AB&I team members Denise Joe and Zeydi Gutierrez recently traveled to California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, California to watch their former intern, Cole Pike, be presented with the Foundry Educational Foundation (FEF) scholarship. Last year Cole served as an intern with AB&I, where he participated in safety projects that provided real-world work experience to benefit his future.

While there, our team members also had the opportunity to visit Cole’s Manufacturing Engineering professor, Rob Carter, and speak to his class about what AB&I does, the FEF scholarship and our internship program. Our team also had the opportunity to tour the university labs, during which Zeydi discussed where to find AB&I products around the Bay Area and the Cal Poly campus as well.

Our team was extremely impressed with the quality of the Manufacturing Engineering program at Cal Poly, a FEF Affiliated school, and are pleased that Professor Carter is currently working to expand and certify the program.

We look forward to continuing our partnership with the Manufacturing Engineering program at Cal Poly.
